Biography: Amy Aubuchon spent over 15 years preparing to launch an artisanal cheeseboard business without realizing it. The Monterey native’s resume, primarily centered around the food and hospitality industries, qualifies more like an untraditional education than work.
On any rare days off, Amy focused on refining her pallet. She attended Pebble Beach Food and Wine nearly every year, visited local tasting rooms and vineyards, hosted parties, which she’d always cater herself, sampled cheese while subconsciously trying to build that “perfect bite.”
Determination and a lot of on-the-job studying culminated in Little Luna Cheese Boards’ debut in August 2020. The Monterey startup offers one-of-a-kind charcuterie boards for any occasion. Every creation is meticulously arranged by Amy, using only the highest quality locally sourced ingredients available, assuring a symbiotic symphony of both taste and aesthetic.
Little Luna’s various board options feature expertly prepared assortments of cheeses, meats, fresh and dried fruits, chocolate, honey, jams, olives, and edible flowers. Thoughtful creations like the charcuterie cones (available by the dozen) exemplify Amy’s ingenuity and playfulness. These unique presentations have garnered 1,300-plus Instagram followers in less than a year.
It’s all about community: Amy is dedicated to collaborating with local businesses, participating in pop-up events, and eventually showcasing Little Luna at farmers’ markets.
The self-described “social butterfly” says the most gratifying part about the business: seeing customers’ reactions to the boards and the positive feedback.
Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her two cats, and, of course, tasting cheese.
